i am in animal husbandry department of punjab.
i am attaching a xlsx sheet here . it is a example . as shown in the sheet .....
numbers of semen strws(pipes of sperms for pregnent to cows and buffaloes) distribute to different towns.in a year 1-4-2011 to 31-12-2012
MY main question is that .
i want the total of straws for Amritsar in sheet 1
and total of straws for Tarn Taran in sheet 3
Total of straws for ludhiana in sheet 4....
and so on................................
plz tell me that what is the function name to do this .
Time Stamp Issue

I am having an issue with my Time Stamp function on my spreadsheet. I have set it up so that in one cell the user can select 'complete', 'not complete' or 'not required' from a drop down list. When the user selects 'complete', the cell next to it will stamp the current date.
The issue is when I close the program and re-open it, the time stamp changes to the current date the document was opened. I want to keep a fixed date in that cell but do not know how to code this.
I have attached a copy of my spreadsheet.
I would appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.

Multi sheet log with summary sheet that auto updates

based on cell value copy-remove-copy a range
Submitted by Vilas on 23 March, 2011 - 12:03I have a VBA - Excel2007 code which copies a range from one sheet to several other sheets based on the value of a cell. The workbook is attached. What this code does is looks for value in D5 in "MasterList" and copies a range from a sheet named "Ranges" to appropriate destinations in other sheets as mentioned in the sheet named "List". Under col F5 in MasterList!, is a formula which assigns a unique ID to the selected combination from dropdown lists in Mastersheet!. The selection_change macro is in the view code of MasterList sheet.
VB -Ehllapi(3270) automation

1. If (N3) is less than (H3), then user shall get the command i.e. "Do you want to insert rows for Balance Qty.___(bal. qty. shall comeup automatically in the command place___) and so on.
2. When the command appears with Balance Qty. and when the user click 'Yes' button, the new Row will create just below the earlier row from which the balance qty. taken. and in the new created row, the balance cells text shall automatically inserted.

For my work, I have created a spreadsheet to log any invoices that I send to clients. We have numerous projects on at the same time. We also have a budget for each project. These projects last for months so we send our clients an invoice each month with the work we have done for the previous month.
What I have is an excel doc with two tabs: Invoices and Budgets.

Vishsesh Need few changes in macro code

Sorry to bother you again. But I need few changes in the code. If you look at attached sheet you will see that T-1 does not have row H so in "After" H has no value simillarly T-2 does not have G and I so in "After" G and I has no data. It should just match and line up A to A, B to B and so on... Could you please update the code? It is included in the attached sheet.

Paste from one file into another with different cell range

I have two excel docs, one showing a general diary of monthly events used by all staff,
I need to copy this diary into a new document that has extra lines inserted for more specific
staff info, not shared by everyone. How can I do this without excel nagging about incorrect destination cell areas??
For eg:
Doc 1
A1 - Mon
A2 - Tue
A3 - wed
etc....
Doc 2
A1 - Mon
A2 - mon Staff on duty
A3 - Tue
A4 - tue staff on duty
A5 - Weds
etc...

Excel read to and from access database with adodb

Im trying to make an bill of materials item info. its a basic form with item#, description, client, material 1, material2, work1, work2.
I dont have a db yet for this. so i will use the form in a different sheet to enter that info into a db. the load form i would want to load information from a simple dropdown list of the item#. it doesnt need to have a search option..i just want it to work then i could add search by description.

Which (SUM) formula in EXCEL matches my requirement?

I'm having an issue >_<, I am trying to use a SUM* formula with these conditions:
=SUMIF(Sheet1!D:D;B9;Sheet1!B:B)
Where "B9" equals a name "XXX" in letters.
In the "range" (Sheet1!D:D); I want a formula to check the name "XXX" in the whole D column and where it matches the criteria "B9" make a sum of numbers based on the sumrange of Sheet1!B:B.
What I do not understand is that the formula I am using (SUMIF) always returns 0 as valor and it should not, what am I doing wrong?

I am able to email these from excel using the tips from this site. But the issue is that the file size is too big to be sent via email which is why I am looking for an option to compress them and then email them. I will then run the zip module before email module that I already have.

Automating gray overlay in a graph

Sorry about the titel if it doesn't say what i'm looking for, I'll try to explain. I have attached a image of the OMX Copenhagen 20 index over a period of 20 years. In the graph you see some gray overlay. I've are put in manually but I have alot of graph, and I want this to happen automatically.
The data is importet via the bloomberg functions in excel and the gay overlay is periods with recessions (def.: two quaters of negative growth in GNP).

How to Run an operation based 7 conditions in same cell

I say several condition because I would like a cell run the operation when date is actual date, it is a weekly schedule, first row is date, at righ is Morning Schedule time to get in, second is time to leave, the fourth row is having afternoon schedule, to get in and time to go out, some times it says Please Call office when seller not going.
The first condition is the Date, Which is in A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 and A10,
Excel named ranges across workbooks

I am using excel named ranges in a grid - so a set of horizontal named ranges like rows 2:10 being 'vendor' (eg 'vendora' 'vendorb' etc and vertical ranges B:E being function eg 'function1' 'function2' 'function3' etc
I can use the named ranges in the same workbook in the standard way
cell content '=vendora function2'
where the two names act as a cross reference to give me the single value where the two ranges intersect

Recommendations on best method to copy specific cells in a Form to uniquely ID'd row in a different worksheet
Submitted by DougF on 3 December, 2010 - 19:23Hi there, I have a unique (to me problem). I want to copy specific cells in a form that belongs to one unique ID into a second worksheet. It will overwrite the cell values in the second worksheet. I have a unique ID associated with both worksheets and the second worksheet is sorted by a location and then the ID. The location is a number like 101 and a six digit ID.
What are your recommendations for this? Vlookup on a named range of the ID and then hard code the offset and update the cell values?
