Hello I'm using Microsoft Excel for Mac 2011 and I'm trying to come up with a formula that does the following:

I want to take the average of all cells in column B such that their respective cells in the A column are the same as those in cell (iA) exluding the the entry in B that corresponds to the cell (iB)

So to explain myself here is an example For the number ID 99666 I want to the formula to then average those that in A have 99666 but exclude from the average the B cell in that same row . so....

i have 2 lists of items that i would like to choose from 1 and return another value to a cell. this would need to be available in every row of cells.
eg

these references are on a different tab 'sheet 2'
cell A cell b
row1 test1 1
row2 test2 2
row3 test3 3

the list would show both 'test1' and '1' but when i choose then the cell on 'sheet 1' would show '1'

hope someone understands this and know a way to do this

The program I am trying to write is trying to compare two lists of arrays and see if they have the name. If they do not have the name then I need to add it to a list and at the end of the program i print the list. Right now I have written my program but it keeps saying my subscript is out of range and I do not now how to better the code.

I am trying to set up a spreadsheet where I have a worksheet called 'Data Entry Form', here I will enter data under certain headings and when I finish entering the data I want to move it to a new sheet to manipulate an invoice.

Under the headings there isn't always an amount of units though, which is where my problem arises. Can I interpret the data so only the headings with an entered amount of units will carry over?

I have tried a long if statement that was in a sequence but couldn't quite get it working?

To apply the pivot chart, please select a single cell within your source data then follow the instruction below.

Insert > Table > Pivot Table > Pivot Chart

Hi All,

I'd appreciate any help with the attached data.

Basically the data looks at sales of two brands in 3 territories which are also split down into sub territories and postal areas over a 12 month period.

What i'd like to be able to do is chart the data (pivot chart??) so that i can filter down by various options ( territory/sub territory/postal area etc) to be able to look at either individual brand sales or compare by the two brands in that particular option?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have been looking for the solution for this problem for hours now, and I can't seem to find it, since the only results that show up when you include Excel goal seeking in your search are basic guides on how to use the Goal Seek feature.

A detailed description of my problem:
I am trying to implement a button in my worksheet, and the macro connected to it is supposed to Goal Seek with values informed by the user. I need the button implemented since most of the people who are going to use the worksheet are not much familiar with Excel.

I am trying to get better at Excel and am having trouble with formulas.

I would like to calculate the average grade for the homework assignments as well as calculate the current final grade for every student in the class.

The formulas need to take into account that there will be blank cells, as grades are given throughout the semester and I would like the current average and final grades to update with every additional grade.

The "Current Final Grade" cell needs to take into account the weighted grade scale and return a letter grade in R2.

i need to do this but am struggeling with the constraint part:

After you have entered this data, enter the label Barrels in cell B8 and enter the sample production run of 5, 10, 5 and 10 in cells C8:F8. Define the name Barrels for these cells.

Hello...I'm using v2010 and am using an ActiveX textbox with the following properties: AutoSize=False, EnterKeyBehav=True, MultiLine=True, ScrollVertical=True.
Initially, everything with this box was fine. However, I now find that when I click inside the box, then click outside the box, the font of the text inside the keeps getting smaller. The dimensions of the box don't change and I don't want it to. But I did initially set the font to, say, Verdana 12pt. This fontsize should not change. I can't find a property that would control this; I have made sure that AutoSize=False, as above.

it worked, but the problem is the illegal characters
I do not know how to merge the formulas =INDIRECT(VLOOKUP(A5;NameLookup;2;0)) and =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE(A5&B5;" ";""))

I have made a button on the summary sheet which what I want is when i push that button, a new breakdown sheet opens just like the Mainswitchboard

sheet I have made, and when it opens i get to automatically name the sheet and the summary sheet updates under breakdown with that sheet name, I also

need the information in the associated row to automatically fill in, the Labour hours, labour cost, material cost and total.

can this happen?

Hi Every one, I have been working on a pivot table. It has the following structure:

- ROW Labels: The material name
- COLUMN Labels: Month
- Report Filter: Year
- Values: Sum of Quantity

What this is is doing is creating at pivot table, where I can see the usage of each material (the number of materials can vary) per month (the number of months can varies, could be 3, 6 or 9 or 12). So, my month display the amount of quantity that was used for that particular month. After the month column labels, I have the grand total field which is part of the pivot table.

I have a spreadsheet that has a cloumn of names that varies in size each week. From that I need to randomly select a number of names depending on the sixe of the list.
They can not be duplicated. I have done =INDEX($B$2:$B$282,INT(RANDBETWEEN(2,282))) which does give names, but i think I need a macro for entering the size of the range and the number of results needed.Any help would be great. Thanks
