Director of Econometric Modeling in Pennsylvania

Position: Director of Econometrics

Functional Responsibilities
•    Design, estimate, implement, test, and document behavioral econometric and financial models for use in forecasting loan level defaults, prepayments, and loss severities
•    Establish/collaborate in developing loan level user tools in support of front-end decisioning and evaluation, ongoing portfolio monitoring, and financial accounting of traditional primary MI business
•    Develop cash flow model leveraging consistent loan level behavioral modeling framework for analyzing financial value of alternative credit structures
•    Scrub, manipulate, and evaluate extensive varied data collected from multiple sources; develop ongoing and ad hoc reports to monitor new business trends and portfolio behavior
•    Create and deliver business-oriented communications for internal and external constituencies of varied backgrounds both technical and non-technical
•    Supervise and mentor assigned staff and perform other tasks as assigned to support Risk department

Education/Skills/Other
•    Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or related field
•    Experience supervising technical staff
•    Solid understanding of mortgages and borrower behavior
•    Expert proficiency in SAS for statistical analysis and a common programming language for model implementation; high proficiency in Excel and Office applications
•    Ability to tackle projects efficiently and accurately under various conditions such as tight time frames, on remote assignment, using alternative toolsets, independently, collaboratively, etc.
•    Travel requirement up to 10%
