Sort on Date field
Is there a way in Excel 2010 to sort on a partial date field? I would like to be able to sort reports using just the month and year portion of a date field.
Also is there a way to filter on the same portion of the date field using the advanced filter?

I do not see an option to add attachments here. Maybe it will appear after I click Preview. If not I guess I can not add an attachment. I see an area attachments should display, but no way to attach anything. Do you have any other suggestions?

There was no attachment! I think you must edit your post to attach something because on comments you can not attach! just on posts!

You can use the MONTH and
You can use the MONTH and YEAR function, and then use a sort on two fields : MONTH, YEAR (like an SQL GROUP BY).
Sort on Date Field
I am not sure I understand. My date is in one field and as of now I don't have the freedom to split it into 3 fields. If there is a way to use the Month and Year function with the sort command I am not aware of it. If you know a way to use those functions in a sort please explain. I am not competent in VB or SQL so those are not good options for me.
If I could find a way I would attach a sample report, but I have not found a way to do that.

There is a way, but the day, the month and the year are on the same cell and you want to isolate just the month and the year? attach your a sample of your file and i will try to help you.
Sort on Date field
Here is a sample of the report I would like to sort on the date field. At this point I do not see an option to attach a file. The only options I see are Save and Preview. I am hoping that I will see other options after I click save. If you get this without an attachment, please tell me how to attach.
